The Scraps Book by Lois Ehlert
The author and illustrator Lois Ehlert gives us a peek into her studio in this autobiographical book. Her collage illustrations are used to demonstrate how she works (spoiler alert: she is messy!) and to show all the parts of the process of making a book. This one is available through the Brookline public library as an ebook.
Middle Grade readers
Rebecca Stead's latest book, The List of Things That Will Not Change, came out last Tuesday. I can't wait to read it! Lots of kids know her books Bob and When You Reach Me. This newest book is a realistic fiction book about a girl named Bea whose parents divorced many years before the events of the book. Her father is about to get remarried and Bea will now have a sibling for the first time, a sister named Sonia.
Grace Lin reads from her newest chapter book: Mulan: Before the Sword! The movie has been delayed but the book is out!
